Dana Walden Addresses Disney General

Walden’s corporate email comes in the wake of the unexpected removal of Rice as chairman of Disney General Entertainment by Disney CEO Chapek and Walden’s selection to succeed the chairman. The shakeup caused shockwaves throughout the company, which shook morale, as employees are trying to understand Rice’s swift dismissal without notice amid a strong overall performance of DGA as Walden’s list of DGA’s latest achievements attests.

Dana Walden In her email she made a promise to her staff, pointing out her dedication to inclusion, which has recently become the subject of another controversy, following Chapek’s first response against Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law.

“I swear to do all I can to assist you and ensure it is DGE is the most ideal workplace in which to work. A workplace that is a magnet for creativity and risk-taking in a positive way and a place where employees can bring their authentic selves to work each day; a workplace that is a place where inclusion is the highest goal and teamwork is celebrated. an environment where we will never stop striving to become the best workplace for talent.”

There isn’t any mention in the memo if there is any replacement for Walden as she was previously in her position as chairman of Entertainment, Walt Disney Television.
