Dept of School Education welcomes Agnipath scheme

Under the Ministry of Education, the Department of School Education and Literacy welcomed the Centre’s initiative to induct young people into the Armed Forces via the Agnipath Scheme.

The department announced plans to support the central government’s efforts by launching a unique programme in collaboration with the National Institute of Open Schooling (DOD) that will allow Agniveers who have finished 10th grade to continue their education to obtain a certificate for 12th grade. This will be possible through the development of the Agnipath scheme specialized courses that are both current and very relevant to their field of service.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship announced the launch via Twitter. The union minister tweeted, “Welcome to the forward-looking initiative by @DseIEduMinistry for enabling 10th pass @DefenceMinIndia to establish a special program to enable #Agniveers further their education and receive a 12th Pass Certificate through @niostwit.”

In a press release, the Department of School Education and Literacy stated that the certificates issued to the “Agniveer” candidates would be recognized throughout the country for job and further education. Agnipath scheme This will allow Agniveers to attain the educational qualifications and skills necessary to play a productive part in society, according to the department.
