It’s been less than a month since Eternals was released, we now have the news of the sequel. The film debuted with a super-fresh team of not one, not two, not three, but eleven superheroes. They were a race of immortal beings who lived secretly on Earth. However, they had to reunite to face the Deviants in order to save the people of Earth. The film got a bad Rotten Tomatoes rating, but it’s definitely worth watching. Plus, the movie ended with a lot of cliffhangers. that need to be sorted. So going ahead with a sequel was a wise decision. We all know the nature of MCU movies too. They are known to persist in nature. Also in other MCU movies, characters in the MCU roam freely! So these Eternals may one day appear in another MCU movie, who knows?
Eternals 2: Writers hint it could be an intergalactic rescue mission
The Eternals ended up with a lot of cliffhangers that needed sorting. So now we have Eternals 2 that will answer any questions you may have after watching the first one! You have to be curious to know what the second episode might be about. Recently, the film’s writers spoke to ScreenRant and revealed that the second film could be an intergalactic rescue mission. Ryan Firpo and Matthew ‘Kaz’ Firpo revealed that they didn’t have a concrete storyline to follow, but several. This is when Kaz hinted that the team could participate in a ‘intergalactic rescue mission‘. Here’s what the writers have to say:
“Ryan Firpo: The analogy I use a lot is that when you’re playing chess, your goal is to checkmate the opponent, but you’re not exactly sure how you’re going to do that – you’re setting up a lot of paths to victory, and I think that Kevin and everyone at Marvel are brilliant chess players, and they know how to set up those pieces and give themselves multiple paths to victory. So while there isn’t specifically the exact storyline, we have a lot of ideas about where we could go, and it’s going to be based on a lot of other variables coming to fruition.
Case Firpo: I think the words ‘intergalactic rescue mission’ are pretty clear where we need to go.”
Cliffhangers in eternity:
Eternal’s film placed its characters on divergent paths. The Emergence was stopped and Celestial Tiamut was born. After which the team broke up. Thena, Druig, and Makkari left Earth in search of more Eternals. On the other hand, Sersi, Phastos, Kingo and Sprite remain on Earth. We even see Ajak die in the movie. However, Salma Hayek had signed a contract with multiple Marvel movies. So you never know she’s coming back. How? No idea as of now.
This movie has brought the Eternals to the forefront of the MCU and may have long-term effects on the MCU. Anyway, the Celestials using multiple worlds to spawn more Celestials is a good hint at threatening the wider galaxy as more planets can cope with their own emergencies.
