Jake Paul vs Ben Askren: What was said?
Jake Paul: I started boxing two years ago and I am still beating faster than Masvidal.
These MMA guys think that because they throw punches, they know how to box.
The world was complaining because I knocked out a basketball player and not a real fighter. So now I give people what they want by hiring a “real hunter.”
What can anyone say after adding Ben Askren to my knockout meme collection?
- Askren has 20-something MMA fights and has been there with Robbie Lawler, he’s a tough guy. I think someone would have been knocked out by Masvidal. That knew the landing would have knocked everyone out.
- But these MMA guys, just because they throw punches, they think they can box.
- This is why I am confident that I can destroy this man. They have no head movement, they are slow, they don’t go to the gym and boxing every day
- Three undercard fights have been added to the April 17 pay-per-view event that will be topped off by a boxing match between YouTube celebrity Jake Paul and retired UFC contender Ben Askren.
Triller made the announcements Thursday, showing all three new fights on the pay-per-view portion of the map.
The most notable fight made official was the showdown between former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and boxing legend Antonio Tarver. The fight was previously confirmed, but now it’s a foregone conclusion as Mir moves from mixed martial arts to boxing to take on Tarver, who will compete for the first time since 2015.
The 52-year-old former boxing champion has faced a long list of top opponents throughout his day, but he is probably best known for a trilogy starring Roy Jones Jr. where Tarver avenged an early defeat by taking a pair of wins over the former multi-weight division champion.
“It’s been a long time. 52 is 52,” Tarver said in a statement. “Facts are facts. As pound for pound, the best heavyweight of my time, I bring it. Mir is a great fighter, but I hope so. he trains hard, because I come to him like a freight train and one that is unstoppable. “
Also added to the map was a fight between 25-1 veteran Regis Progais when he faced Ivan Redkach.
The third fight Jake Paul vs Ben Askren Live British millionaire and club promoter Joe Fournier will take on Colombian reggaeton star Reykon. Fournier, who previously teamed up with former boxing champion David Haye, had previously challenged Paul to a boxing match, but now he will compete on his undercard instead.

Strange mismatch? The weirdest circus act in the world? It’s hard to tell at this stage.
Who is Jake Paul
Jake Paul is Logan Paul’s brother. Both are YouTuber’s online personalities with significant followers on almost every social media platform. They initially gained popularity on the now-defunct video platform Vine and Jake Paul starred in Bizaardvark, a show on the Disney Channel.
Ben Askren will be the first to admit that hitting wasn’t his best weapon when playing in mixed martial arts, but that’s mainly because throwing hands with opponents was never part of his game plan.
Instead, the two-time Hodge Trophy winner and NCAA wrestling champion always relied on his superior struggle to get fights to the ground where he was the better fighter. For Askren, hitting was always meant to set up his takedowns as he knew no one was going to wrestle him in the cage.
