Kelly ClarksonShe gets a head start on her 4th of July weekend… requesting her own independence from her estranged husband.
Clarkson’s lawyer, disso queen, Laura Wasser, filed legal documents Friday… asking the judge to officially grant Clarkson’s divorce petition, leaving other matters like money and custody for another day.
As we reported, Clarkson’s husband, Brandon Blackstock, has challenged their marriage contract, claiming it is invalid. Millions of dollars are at stake and a judge has yet to rule on the validity of the prenuptial agreement.
It looks like there won’t be a problem with custody and spousal support. The judge awarded Kelly primary physical guardianship on a temporary basis… because Brandon has moved to Montana permanently, far from the couple’s childhood home in LA. That order is expected to become permanent.
It also looks like there won’t be much battle over spousal support. The judge already awarded Brandon temporary spousal support, and that order will likely become permanent. However, spousal maintenance would end in 2023 (half the duration of the marriage).
The couple married in 2014 and have two children.
The divorce got dirty smerig, and it’s clear now… Kelly wants it to be over soon.
As we reported Kelly just got stuck a beautiful house in Toluca Lake…a stone’s throw from the Burbank studio where she films her talk show. Kelly Will get a number of Ellen‘s timeslots after DeGeneres retires from her show.
