– Review

Six friends who follow Periyar EVR’s principles fall prey to local caste politics in their hometown.

Mahendran is a highly respected person in his village at Karur. Sasikumar is his only son and an ardent follower of Periyar.

Since he tries to preach the ways of Periyar he earns a lot of enemies in the village. Meanwhile, local body elections are announced in the village in which two heavy weights compete against each other.

A murder takes place during this time. Sasikumar along with Soori and one more friend are arrested. This issue later blows into a caste issue. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Director R S Prabhakaran has teamed up with Sasikumar after ‘Sundarapandian’.

He has tried to convey a social message through the movie.

Sasikumar is apt for the role. He has improved a lot with his emotions and expressions. He excels in the action sequences.

Madonna Sebastian comes as the usual commercial heroine. Inder Kumar and Harish Peradi raise curiosity about their character.

Mahendran has delivered a seasoned acting. Cameraman Ekambaram has captured the nativity of Karur beautifully. Music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas could have been better.

Rating : 3.4/5
