Before joining NBC, Morales worked for WVIT-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was a morning and weekend anchor. She covered several major stories, including the Columbine shooting, Hurricane Floyd, the 2000 Presidential election, and the birth of Prince George. During her tenure on “Today,” she was honored with three Daytime Emmy Awards for her coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. This is just one of the many awards she has received for her reporting.

Before joining “The Talk,” Morales worked as a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Hartford. She joined MSNBC in 2002 and remained as an anchor for four years. From 2016 to 2019, Morales served as an anchor and correspondent on “Access Hollywood.” She also hosts the West Coast edition of Today. It’s unclear how long Morales will stay on “The Talk.”

In June 2013, Morales won a Robert F. Kennedy Award for international reporting. She reported on the life of Honduran lobster divers for the “Rock Center with Brian Williams” show. She also speaks Portuguese and Spanish. Although she was born in Taiwan, Morales spent her first 18 years in foreign countries as an Air Force brat. She went on to study at Rutgers University where she graduated as a journalism major and Phi Beta Kappa. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons.
