She began her career as a radio and TV jockey, but soon began to gain fame as a DJ.
In addition to her acting career, Diab is an outspoken activist and an advocate for social change. She has been a co-founder of the Know Your Rights Camp with NFL player Colin Kaepernick, which provides empowering education to youth. The camp travels across the continental US, and Diab and Kaepernick have both hosted it. In 2016, Diab and her co-host, Carly Aquilio, founded the Plan B campaign to give disadvantaged teen girls in New York City a night to shine.
