With this, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has imposed night curfew in 12 districts across the state i.e. night curfew will now be in force across the state from 9 pm to 5 am. At the same time, funerals or weddings can now include only 50 people inside the house and only 100 people outside the house.
It is mandatory for all government employees to wear masks. The rest of the restrictions will remain in force until April 30, as before, including the closure of schools and educational institutions. However, mall shop owners have been relieved. Now 10 people could be present in a shop at a time. Earlier only 100 people were allowed at a time in the mall.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder expressed concern over high positivity and mortality in the state on Wednesday during a weekly review of the corona situation. He said it was a matter of concern that more than 85% of the cases in Punjab belong ed to the UK strain, which is more infectious and viral.
CM Amarinder Singh said there was no option but to take drastic steps to prevent corona, though the number of positive cases had stabilized to some extent in the last few days. He said political parties have broken their promise to refrain from holding rallies, which is why political events are being banned.
It may be recalled that delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Shiromandi Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Badal had participated in the political event recently. On this, CM Amarinder Singh said that if you behave like this despite being a senior political, how would you expect people to be serious about the spread of the disease.
CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that a case will be registered against the leaders of the political event and the owners of the venue and the owners of the tent house will also not be spared. The venues will be sealed for three months as soon as a case is registered against them.
CM Captain Amarinder Singh further said that no social, cultural or sports functions and related functions will be allowed till April 30. All government offices will be prohibited from coming in and online and virtual modes will be used for grievance redressal.
