PM showers praise on Nadda, says poll results result of his leadership | India News - Times of India

NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi’s praise for BJP president J P Nadda on Wednesday is seen as an endorsement of the leader’s efforts to coordinate the party’s poll campaign in Bihar and other states where bypolls were held.
The function at the BJP headquarters turned out to be an occasion where Modi expressed full faith in Nadda’s leadership and sent across a strong message about the importance of the party president in the power hierarchy. It would be read as Modi’s backing for the changes in the party office-bearers which were seen to be a result of Nadda consulting the PM, home minister Amit Shah and other seniors.
“The poll results are an outcome of the leadership of party president Naddaji and the strategies he made. I congratulate Naddaji for this victory,” Modi had said. Later, he said BJP has to become a platform where people from all sections can realise their dreams.
“BJP is a different party, a lively platform. This is the party where the country‘s prime minister can chant ‘Naddaji tum aage badho, ham tumhare saath hai’,” Modi said and asserted that BJP was a party where talent was duly rewarded, a fairly direct attack on politics of dynasty.
Earlier, Nadda, the only speaker on the occasion other than Modi, said the Bihar victory was an endorsement of the PM’s leadership and people of the state chose “vikas raj” over “goonda raj”, “DBT raj” over “loot raj” and “LED over lantern”.
Nadda said this was first big elections after outbreak of the pandemic and BJP’s success meant a lot for the party’s future plans. “Questions were raised about the leadership of big and powerful countries during the corona pandemic, whereas the prime minister took a bold and timely decision of lockdown which saved the lives of a large number of people,” he added.
