His brother Sravan is also an actor. Ravi Basrur is the grandson of the veteran playback singer and actor K. M. Sanjana. His sister is actress Kriti Sanjana. He is also a cousin of actress Vidya Athreya.
Ravi Basrur is the grandson of the veteran singer and actor K. M. Sanjana and the son of Dr. K. Srinivasa Rao, a physician. He completed his schooling at Saraswathipuram IT College and college education at MVR College in Chennai. He is married to Sangeetha and has a daughter, who is a doctor.
