The hitmaker ‘Save Your Tears’ teases fans that a new era is on the way after he dressed his alter ego ‘After Hours’ in a red suit for his critically acclaimed 2020 album.

And he just posted a clip of a new song on Twitter, declaring that his new era has begun.

He wrote: “f*** it … IT STARTS TONIGHT. (sic)”

The clip, which lasts just over a minute, has been viewed more than a million times in just a few hours.

The preview comes after The Weeknd — whose real name is Abel Tesfaye — recently tweeted that he’s “really proud” of his upcoming album, insisting it’s “a full body of work.”

In May, the 31-year-old superstar officially said goodbye to his red suit at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

At the end of its acceptance speech for Top Hot 100 Artist, The Weeknd stated, “I want to thank God I don’t have to wear that red suit anymore.”

His two-part album for his fourth studio album was complete with gloves and a face bandage.

The hitmaker ‘Blinding Lights’ wore the costume for his appearance at the Super Bowl, the MTV Video Music Awards and the AMAs.

The Weeknd — who also took the stage wearing facial prosthetics — explained how the bandages reflected the absurdity of celebrities undergoing plastic surgery and manipulating their appearance for validation.

He previously said: “The meaning of the whole headband is a reflection on the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrities and people who manipulate themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated.

“It’s all a progression and we see The Character’s storyline getting more and more dangerous and absurd as his story progresses.”
