W. Golf: Two Named To All-ACC Academic Team


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) Two members of the world-record-setting Florida State Women’s Golf Team -Amelia Williamson and Alice Hodge and Amelia Williamson were named for the All-ACC Academic Women’s Team. Williamson was also named the ACC Women’s Golf Scholar Award Winner. The Seminoles completed their season with five-place tie finishing in the National Championship Finals and with an average of 3.438 GPA at the school.

This is the 8th consecutive season in which two Seminoles were selected to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team. Hodge and Williamson were selected on the roster for the second time in their career.

“This group of girls was a lot of fun for our staff to coach,” said Head Coach Amy Bond. “There was nothing we needed to get for them to accomplish on the golf course as well as in class. In various ways they learned from each the other and encouraged each other to succeed academically and in golf. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved, since this is the type of culture that we’ve created in our team for quite a while. It’s thrilling to know that the students who have been instrumental in building and continue to develop this program, are driven to reach lofty goals for themselves, and as a group.”

Williamson she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management by 2022. concluded her senior year with an 3.625 GPA Honors, All-American Second Team honors and her first ever individual win in the Florida State Match Up. Williamson’s GPA was nearly as higher than her stroke score was very low (72.82) in her spring term.

“We had two players earn All-American honors this season which is a great accomplishment in itself,” Bond added. Bond. “Two members of the team (Williamson as well as Beatrice Wallin) also earned their degrees from Florida State. That phrase over all other ones, highlights the solid foundation we have in the FSU campus. FSU.”

Hodge was able to continue her academic excellence in her spring term with an impeccable 4.0 GPA. It was for the second straight semester that she earned an overall 4.0 in class. Hodge has been awarded President’s List honors (twice) as well as Dean’s List Honors (twice) throughout her first four years on the campus of Florida State. Hodge starts her junior year with a cumulative average at 3.957 as a major in Finance.

To be considered to be considered for the All-ACC Women’s Golf Academic team an athlete regardless of her class must be able to achieve an average of 3.00 GPA in the semester prior to her and maintain an average of 3.00 cumulative average throughout their academic careers.

There are 27 Seminoles have been selected to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team at a total of 53 times, since the group was formed in the year 2006.
